Ákat actions: reporting the party

It is often not enough for an action to take place. Sometimes an Ákat speaker will want to make clear to their audience the evidence base on which they are basing their statement. For this they use evidentiality markers.

There may be times when the speaker wishes to emphasise the veracity of their statements - that they have personal knowledge of the truth of what they are saying. In such cases they will add a declarative evidentiality marker to the end of the action phrase.

Similarly, there may be times when the speaker wishes to make clear that their statements are based on supposition or inference, in which case they will add a speculative evidentiality marker to the end of the action phrase.
